Here's a bit on the gear that has helped make all this happen!
There's a lot not covered in this blog, but what can't be neglected is this acknowledgment of the pieces of equipment that have made my collection of photos and memories (and, in small part, this blog) possible.
Here's to them!!

Nikon N80 – 35mm film SLR
This is my first baby. (I call my SLRs my babies... at least until I have actual human offspring. Then I'll have to reconsider this terminology.) Although as a child I had access to an older Nikon SLR that belonged to my dad, this beauty is the first to truly be mine. She's been there for so many adventures, from wandering through the UC Berkeley Botanical Gardens to holding my breath from the gaseous geysers of Yellowstone National Park. She's been my tutor through all the darkroom courses I took at the Art Studio at Cal and my constant muse through all our trips out together.

Nikon Coolpix 2100 – 2.1 MP digital P&S
I've since retired this sweet little thing, my first digital point and shoot, but it's served me well through the years. I got it back when I worked at a camera store (yay for discount!), and it's been through a lot with me. Most notably, this was my one (and only) digital camera as I trekked through Thailand the summer after I graduated from Cal. It might not look like much, but this 2.1 megapixel camera sure packed a quality punch!

Nikon D80 – 10.2 MP digital SLR
My second baby has been with me for several years now, and we're getting along great! She first got dropped off by the magical camera stork before my first trip to New Orleans (which is chronicled in this blog!). From the moment I first laid my hands on her and heard the click of one of my old trusty Nikon lenses snapping into her newly unwrapped body, I was in love. Since then, she was my constant sidekick through my lone-star adventures in Europe, being just annoyed as I when photography, even without flash, was forbidden.

Pentax Optio W60 – 10.2 MP digital P&S
This little guy loves it wet! He can deal just as well on dry land, too. He's not nearly the optical quality that you'd get with a higher end Canon or Nikon or even Sony P&S, but for what I wanted him for, he's ideal. I needed a camera to capture all the moments – on the trail, on the water, in the rain, and more – when I just couldn't bring myself to put my babies in that danger. Don't get me wrong, this guy has his limitations, but those are things that I'm willing to put up with when I'm out, in knee-deep mud, pounded by torrential rain, trying to catch a shot of a rainbow.
